Babysitting 101

Todd and I had our first experience babysitting our niece Anna together. Of course I have babysat her before and Todd has kept her by himself once for about an hour, but this was our first big babysitting adventure. It was an adventure to say the least. haha. We both needed to run some errands during our time that we would be babysitting so we decided to get the car seat so we could just take Anna with us.
(Side note: Anna is 21 months and full of energy)

Chris just handed us the car seat and said "here ya go" We had no clue how to put it in. haha. We have never dealt with a car seat before. This was our first adventure. I finally got it locked in partly and Todd figured out the other part. It only took ummm lets say 15 minutes. We get Anna all locked in the car seat in my car and are getting ready to go when I can't find my car keys. Ummm I look at Todd and tell him I think I left them inside his parents house. While I was putting Anna in the car seat Todd had locked his parents house and didn't know if he had a key to get back in. So yes we LOCKED ourselves out of the house. Todd and I put our brains together and decided he would run home and grab my spare key. Then Todd decided he wanted to just move the car seat into his car and we would just take his car. This goes back and forth for about 10 or 15 minutes. In the meantime Todd is pulling his car around behind my car and he says lets just put Anna in my car oh lo and behold I find my key. HAHA It was on the floorboard of the backseat in my car. Let me just quote Todd here "Oh my goodness you are just like my mother" BAHAHAHA!! I had to crack up that one. My mother in law is always misplacing her keys.
Finally we are good to go and we head to run our errands.
Let me back up a little bit here and say I had just changed Anna's diaper right before we left and Todd asked me if I needed a diaper bag and I said no we will only be gone an hour. Lets just say I learned my lesson!!!
We get to the lodge so Todd can set up for church in the morning and I let Anna run around and play with toys in the nursery. She now has a dirty diaper and i don't have any diapers. I decide to put Anna in the car and we make a run to Kmart and buy diapers. I search the whole store and finally find the diapers. Kmart can't just have a small pack of diapers, oh no I have to buy the 40 pack!!! Oh the joys of babysitting :)
We go back to the lodge to pick up Uncle Todd and then head to Sonic so Todd and I can get some dinner. We get back to our house and give Anna a bath and I am eating my grilled cheese while watching her in the bath tub and she wants a bite so I give her a bite of grilled cheese. Its about 9 30 at night here, way past her bed time!! We didn't have any pjs so I just put her in one of my old t shirts from when I was a little girl. We finally got her down in the bed with me about 10 30 but she still wasn't asleep when her GiGi came to pick her up.

In the end we SURVIVED!! :) We loved babysitting her and had so much fun. She is at such a fun age right now. She is talking up a storm and she LOVES her Aunt KK and Uncle Todd :) There is no other feeling than her seeing us and running up to us and wanting to be picked up and saying I love you KK or I love you Todd. Oh my, it just melts my heart! Malee next time you need a babysitter you can definitely count on us!!

Infected Computer

Hey guys! Sorry I have been MIA a little lately. Our home computer has been in the shop. It has some nasty virus and we are trying to get it fixed. It has had the virus for a while but we were still able to use it and now you can't even get to the home screen on our computer. UGH, I hate computers sometimes. :( Hopefully we will have it back by this weekend. I have been missing blogging and catching up on everyones blogs. The only time I have a chance to catch up on your blogs is at work, so sorry for the lack of commenting.

Todd and I survived our first night of babysitting our 21month old niece. More on that later with pictures :) We also had a wonderful anniversary. I am so blessed by a wonderful husband.

Also do you read Brit's blog. Her little girl Kennedy just turned 1 and she threw her a fabulous birthday party. Britney had twittered last week that she was in need of a birthday banner because the one she ordered off etsy; the girl just took her money and ran. I jumped at the chance to make Baby K a birthday banner and it turned out so cute. Check out all the pictures here. I love making banners, cards, anything crafty. So if you need something just let me know and I will make it. You can always email me. My email is on the sidebar.

I am heading to Destin this weekend with my 2 favorite girlfriends. I am super EXCITED!!! The bride Lauren doesn't know. Her sister Jennifer is picking me up at the airport and then we are headed down to the beach super early Friday morning. Lauren will be coming a little later with some other girls. Its going to be a total surprise. She won't find out until she gets to the beach :)

I hope you all have a TERRIFIC TUESDAY!! haha I am a dork I know.

PS: All you ATL girls have inspired me. I have loved reading all of your posts about your weekend and insecurity. Thanks for sharing.

4 year Anniversary

Wow I can't believe it has been 4 years since Todd and I said I DO!!! Time sure does fly by when your having fun. I couldn't have asked for a better husband, friend, partner, soul mate. I fall more in love with him every day. We enjoy each other so much and he makes me laugh constantly. I think that is so important in a relationship, to be able to enjoy each other. I definitely think we were made for each other. We balance each other out. I'm messy, hes clean; I'm shy, he never meets a stranger; he has a beautiful voice, I can't carry a note to save my life. :) I am so glad that God brought Todd into my life when he did. I never thought when I was working at Victoria's Secret almost 7 years ago that I would be my husband. Wow God really did have a plan and knew what he was doing. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful husband.

We usually go on a weekend trip for our anniversary but we are just too busy right now so we have postponed it until later, maybe in May sometime. We will just have a nice quiet dinner out and reflect on the past 4 years. I can't wait to see what God has in store for our future. If these past 4 years has anything to say about it I know we will continue to be blessed and have many many more happy and wonderful years together. Thank you BLT for putting up with me, I don't think anyone else could have. haha I love you more than you will ever know :)

Here are a few pics from our wedding day.

Maryland comes to Texas

* Lots of pictures*

WOW!! What a fun weekend I had. My bff Tracy made the big trek down to the great state of Texas. We had the best weekend!! Of course I didn't expect anything less. I picked her up Thursday at the airport and we headed to dinner with my brother, his girlfriend and another friend of mine Kristin. We enjoyed Mexican and Margaritas at Tracy's request!! ;) After dinner Tracy, Kate and I headed out to a local wine bar. We were the only people in there and it was a great way to end the night. Its a new place in Houston and the atmosphere was really cool. Its called Corkscrewers. We really enjoyed sitting on the couches and having a glass of wine.

Friday morning we woke up and headed to go get breakfast tacos. Tracy had no idea what a breakfast taco was. Seriously? The North doesn't have breakfast tacos. I would die, not literally :) My brother recommended an authentic Mexican place to get breakfast tacos and they did not disappoint. YUM they were so good and Tracy loved them. She was so excited to tell her hubby that we had tacos for breakfast. haha. I didn't know that apparently its a SOUTHERN thing. Then we headed for pedicures and to meet my mom for lunch. The rest of the day we spent shopping around town and showing Tracy my hometown. That afternoon we headed back to Lufkin and went out to Jazz on the Patio. Todd and I always love going to The Fredonia and sitting outside eating and listening to jazz music. We decided it would be a good place to take Tracy. The only bad thing was we got there kind of late and the only table left was the one right in front of the band, so the music was pretty loud. We could barely hear each other talk. It was a fun night though :)
Tracy and I at the Tea Room for lunch

Haha- We tried to take self pictures ;)
Saturday I showed her all around Lufkin and then we went back to Nacogdoches to do a little shopping. They have the cutest baby store there so I had to take her there. She got some cute things for jack including an outfit for his first birthday. Its an adorable Bailey Boys outfit. We spent the rest of the afternoon roaming around downtown Nacogdoches and I took her around my college campus. It was such a fun and relaxing afternoon. That night we decided to just pick up pizza to eat. We stayed up late scrapbooking and making cards. It was fun to just relax at home.
Notice my hair is curled. Tracy did it for me. I'm practicing on it looking that good again. I loved it like that. Thanks girl :)
Some cards Tracy made. Aren't they so cute?
Bentley loved Tracy :)

My messy craft/scrapbook room
Cards Tracy made for Jack to give to her parents. Aren't they so cute.
Isn't her little boy just the cutest thing ever.....LOVE HIM!!!
Cards for Lyndsey and Miss Addison :)
Sunday I had to take her back to the airport that morning. I was sad to see her go but so glad that she came and visited. We had such a great weekend and I can't wait to do it again soon. :)

Happy Birthday Bentley

Bentley says ITS MY BIRTHDAY!!!!I am such a bad mommy. I totally forgot about Bentley's birthday yesterday. It actually did not even cross my mind until today at lunch. He turned the big 4 years old yesterday!! We got him when he was just 8 weeks old and I wish I had pictures of when he was a puppy but I guess I didn't take any because I can't find a single one. I know that Tara over at Jimmy Choos would be completely disappointed that I forgot my fur baby's birthday. haha. At least I remembered the next day right. I think I will take him on a little walk for his birthday and give him an extra treat. I got off work early today and he is just been laying around all day. He has become quite the lazy dog lately. Oh what it would be like to live a dogs life. Can you imagine? You know, just to lay around, chase after a ball, get rubbed on all the time. Now that is the life right?

Some of my favorite things to do include:
Chasing the squirrels in the backyard
Going on car rides
Snuggling behind all the pillows
Chasing the dogs in the backyard that live behind me.
I love it when my daddy comes home from work. I always wait for him to pick me up and I don't stop jumping on him until he does.

We love you Bentley. You are our "child" for now and we hope you are around for a long time. Sorry we forgot your birthday but that just means you get extra special treatment today!!

Weekend Recap

This weekend I headed down to Houston on Friday night to have a much needed girls night and celebrate my friend Kirby's birthday. Her birthday isn't until this Thursday but we celebrated early. It was one of the only times we could get all of us girls together. We had a fun night. We went and had Mexican and Margaritas at Kirby's request of course at a place called Molina's per recommendation of my brothers girlfriend. The food was delicious and I probably ate my weight in chips and salsa. That is so my weakness. I can't get enough of chips and salsa and mexican food. We enjoyed catching up and gossiping and had lots of laughs ;) Kirby got free dessert and they sang to her and she even got a kiss on the cheek from the little latina waiter. haha. It was too cute. After dinner we headed over to the new "hot spot" Its a new country western bar called Rebels. I'm not much on country western but I did it all for Kirby. We ended up having a fun time though. We walked in and it wasn't crowded yet so we were able to get a table which was nice. We had a fun night. I drove back home on Saturday morning and Todd and I just kind of piddled around the house and ran a few errands. We met up with some friends for dinner on Saturday night.

It was a good weekend and I always hate to see Monday show her face again. I hope this week goes by fast. Its only a 3 day work week for me. YAY!! Tracy is flying in to Houston on Thursday and I could not be more thrilled. I am so excited to show he Texas. It is bound to me a good time. I hope all you wonderful ladies had a fab weekend as well. Sorry I haven't been posting that much but really nothing too exciting has been going on.

Happy Monday Loves :0)

Happy Easter

Close up shot, so you can see his bow tie. How cute is my husband...
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter, ours sure was. We were able to spend lots of time with our close friends and family. It could not have been any more perfect!! We had a beautiful church service with 234 people. I was amazed at the crowd. We have just recently started a new church in town and to have that many people show up on Easter was downright AMAZING!!! It was marvelous. Our choir sang beautifully and Randy gave a wonderful sermon. I seriously had chill bumps through out the whole service. I can't say enough good things about it. The altar was beautifully adorned with a spring flower arrangement and lilies. I was on call this weekend but luckily did not get called out at all on Easter. It was so nice to be able to spend the day with family and then have our close friends Randy and April over for dinner last night.

Isn't our altar beautiful...
Our ministers daughter Taylor and Todd.
Have a great week. Sorry I didn't take a lot of pics. :(
