Fun Weekend with old friends.

SFA
Beautiful Campus
Hey guys! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend. Is it just me or do the weekends just seem to fly by. Its like you work hard 5 days and then you rush home on Friday to relax for the weekend and before you know it, its Monday and you start all over again. I think every weekend should be 3 days weekends. Wouldn't that be nice?Downtown Nacogdoches

Anyways one of my childhood friends and her husband came to visit for the weekend. My friend and I and her hubby all went to college together as well. Our schedules are always so busy and conflicting so it was nice to have a weekend together since we live in different towns now. We had a nice and relaxing weekend with lots of food, laughter and wine of course. :) Friday night we just went out to dinner and then hung out at home. Nothing too exciting. On Saturday we decided to head over to Nac and visit our Alma Mater, we enjoyed walking around campus and seeing all the changes at SFA. It brought back so many memories and made me
realize how fast college went by. Oh to go back to college. I would in a heartbeat. They have really spruced up the campus since we all went there. Then we ventured downtown and went in all the little shops and antique stores. I love downtown Nacogdoches. Its so quaint and has the cutest little shops. We decided after walking around in the hot sun we all needed a sno cone before we headed home. We stopped a local sno cone stand and got our fix. That was my 2nd sno cone of the summer season and it was delish. I got dreamsicle flavor. yum yum!!We grilled out on Saturday night. We decided pretty late in the evening what we were going to cook so we didn't eat dinner until about 10 o clock. It was so yummy though. We grilled chicken and veggies (squash, zucchini, onion, tomato, red bell pepper) had homemade mashed potatoes and french bread. Our meal was delicious!! The girls cooked while the guys got to grill and just relax out on the patio. Overall we had a great time and I was so glad Lori and John came to visit.
Sunday I was so tired after church and lunch so I came home and curled up on the couch. I rented Fame from On Demand and relaxed. I was kind of disappointed. The previews always looked good to me but the movie was just okay. After the movie I took a little nap on the couch and woke up feeling very refreshed. It was just what I needed that afternoon. : )

How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun? Who is watching The Bachelorette tonight? Be sure to look for my thoughts/recap tomorrow? I can't wait to see what drama will happen tonight. :)

PS: If you haven't heard Megan delivered Baby Cohen this morning and he is beautiful. Check out her blog to see a picture. He is stable, PRAISE THE LORD!! Please continue to pray for this sweet family. You can click on my button to read their story.

Memorial Day Weekend!!

Me and my handsome hubby.
I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I don't know about you but I love when I get an extra long weekend. Its so nice to have that extra day off. I was on call on Monday but I didn't get called out until that evening so I pretty much had the whole day off. We had a nice relaxing evening with no real plans. It was so nice. I feel like all we have done lately is go go go and this summer is going to be just as busy for us. I can't believe its already June. This summer is going to go by so fast, I have a feeling.
One of Todd's high school friends got married on Sunday and we enjoyed the outdoor wedding and the reception at The Lodge. It was fun and I took lots of pics. Todd and I enjoyed dinner and dancing. :) I love my hair now that it is getting longer. I am able to do a lot more with it and I sported a low side ponytail for the first time. I actually liked it and thought I did a pretty good job at doing my own hair for once. ;)
Our minister who also officiated the wedding and his wife. Randy and April We just love them and always have a great time hanging out with them. If you follow me on Twitter then you hear me talk about the Sunday night tradition. They come over just about every Sunday night and I cook dinner and we drink wine and just relax and talk about the week. Its a great way to start the week out right. The East Texas band....they were really good. I love old Texas Country. The bride's parents dancing.
The beautiful Bride and Groom. I must say she totally rocked the headband. :)
The groom doing a little dance. hehe ;)

I am a little behind on my blogging. Blame it on the 3 day weekend. I will have a Bachelorette post up tomorrow with my thoughts. This season is a train wreck. Lets just say I am so glad Craig is gone!! Have a good week lovelies.

Maryland comes to Texas

* Lots of pictures*

WOW!! What a fun weekend I had. My bff Tracy made the big trek down to the great state of Texas. We had the best weekend!! Of course I didn't expect anything less. I picked her up Thursday at the airport and we headed to dinner with my brother, his girlfriend and another friend of mine Kristin. We enjoyed Mexican and Margaritas at Tracy's request!! ;) After dinner Tracy, Kate and I headed out to a local wine bar. We were the only people in there and it was a great way to end the night. Its a new place in Houston and the atmosphere was really cool. Its called Corkscrewers. We really enjoyed sitting on the couches and having a glass of wine.

Friday morning we woke up and headed to go get breakfast tacos. Tracy had no idea what a breakfast taco was. Seriously? The North doesn't have breakfast tacos. I would die, not literally :) My brother recommended an authentic Mexican place to get breakfast tacos and they did not disappoint. YUM they were so good and Tracy loved them. She was so excited to tell her hubby that we had tacos for breakfast. haha. I didn't know that apparently its a SOUTHERN thing. Then we headed for pedicures and to meet my mom for lunch. The rest of the day we spent shopping around town and showing Tracy my hometown. That afternoon we headed back to Lufkin and went out to Jazz on the Patio. Todd and I always love going to The Fredonia and sitting outside eating and listening to jazz music. We decided it would be a good place to take Tracy. The only bad thing was we got there kind of late and the only table left was the one right in front of the band, so the music was pretty loud. We could barely hear each other talk. It was a fun night though :)
Tracy and I at the Tea Room for lunch

Haha- We tried to take self pictures ;)
Saturday I showed her all around Lufkin and then we went back to Nacogdoches to do a little shopping. They have the cutest baby store there so I had to take her there. She got some cute things for jack including an outfit for his first birthday. Its an adorable Bailey Boys outfit. We spent the rest of the afternoon roaming around downtown Nacogdoches and I took her around my college campus. It was such a fun and relaxing afternoon. That night we decided to just pick up pizza to eat. We stayed up late scrapbooking and making cards. It was fun to just relax at home.
Notice my hair is curled. Tracy did it for me. I'm practicing on it looking that good again. I loved it like that. Thanks girl :)
Some cards Tracy made. Aren't they so cute?
Bentley loved Tracy :)

Cards Tracy made for Jack to give to her parents. Aren't they so cute.
Isn't her little boy just the cutest thing ever.....LOVE HIM!!!
Cards for Lyndsey and Miss Addison :)
Sunday I had to take her back to the airport that morning. I was sad to see her go but so glad that she came and visited. We had such a great weekend and I can't wait to do it again soon. :)

Weekend Recap

This weekend I headed down to Houston on Friday night to have a much needed girls night and celebrate my friend Kirby's birthday. Her birthday isn't until this Thursday but we celebrated early. It was one of the only times we could get all of us girls together. We had a fun night. We went and had Mexican and Margaritas at Kirby's request of course at a place called Molina's per recommendation of my brothers girlfriend. The food was delicious and I probably ate my weight in chips and salsa. That is so my weakness. I can't get enough of chips and salsa and mexican food. We enjoyed catching up and gossiping and had lots of laughs ;) Kirby got free dessert and they sang to her and she even got a kiss on the cheek from the little latina waiter. haha. It was too cute. After dinner we headed over to the new "hot spot" Its a new country western bar called Rebels. I'm not much on country western but I did it all for Kirby. We ended up having a fun time though. We walked in and it wasn't crowded yet so we were able to get a table which was nice. We had a fun night. I drove back home on Saturday morning and Todd and I just kind of piddled around the house and ran a few errands. We met up with some friends for dinner on Saturday night.

It was a good weekend and I always hate to see Monday show her face again. I hope this week goes by fast. Its only a 3 day work week for me. YAY!! Tracy is flying in to Houston on Thursday and I could not be more thrilled. I am so excited to show he Texas. It is bound to me a good time. I hope all you wonderful ladies had a fab weekend as well. Sorry I haven't been posting that much but really nothing too exciting has been going on.

Happy Monday Loves :0)

Monday already...

I can't believe its Monday already. Is it just me or do the weekends seem to just fly by these days? Not only the weekends but the months too. I can't believe it will be April next week and Easter next Sunday. It seems like we just celebrated Christmas. I had a fun weekend this weekend. My bestie Kirby came into town to visit. She lives in the Houston area and I haven't seen her in about 6 months. It was great getting to catch up and hang out.

She got to town Friday afternoon and we just hung around the house waiting for Todd to get home and then the 3 of us went out to eat. I bet you can't guess where we went? Our favorite place of course, Hole In One. We have never taken Kirby there so off we went. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and drinks. After dinner Todd went home and Kirby and I met my friend Julie at Ralph and Kacoos for drinks. We had a good time gossiping, chatting, and laughing. Julie had some friends going to Jim Anns, the local bar here so we decided to tag along. I have only been once, and until you go you don't understand it. haha. It shows the true Lufkin. It is definitely a sight to be seen. Lets just say we had a good time people watching :)

Saturday Kirbs and I headed up to the Main Event to help out. For lunch I took her to Rays, a Lufkin tradition. Its a local hamburger joint, but its a true drive thru. They have some of the best and greasiest hamburgers in town, you can't beat them!! You literally pull up and a car hop comes to take your order and then you eat in your car, just like Sonic but better...WAY BETTER!! We were tired from the night before so we both went back to my house and laid on the couch and took nap. We enjoyed our lazy Saturday!!

On Sunday Kirby left early to get back home and Todd and I pretty much laid around all day. It was so nice. It was FREEZING on Sunday. How is it that it was in the 70s on Friday and the 30s on Sunday. Oh yeah and it snowed. That is the third time this year Lufkin has gotten snow. Can we say CRAZINESS? We didn't have anything to do but be lazy.

We had a great weekend and I am sad that its over. Oh well Friday will be here before I know it...HOPEFULLY :) We are going to comedy night on Wednesday night with some friends so I'm looking forward to that.
I got a wild hair today and decided to wear my hair curly. It is naturally curly but I normally just straighten it every day. I am really liking it and I might wear it this way all week. Todd doesn't really like it but oh well, its easy and quick to fix.

A FUN weekend

Look who got a hair cut. Isn't he so cute? :)I had a great weekend. Yes, I am just now getting around to posting about it. I was off yesterday so technically today is my Monday.

Friday night we went over to Todd's cousins house for their little boys birthday party. He was turning 2. They had a nice family party for him. We always enjoy family birthday parties. My precious niece was able to come also, so I able to enjoy lots of time with her.

On Saturday my mom and her good friend came to Lufkin for the day. We had a fun day full of shopping, eating and showing her friend around Lufkin. We went to one of my favorite stores Belk. They were having a huge sale. I got a dress, a shirt, and a cardigan for only 22 dollars. Now that's what I call a bargain. I was so excited. Ya'll know I love to shop, and especially love to shop a good sale. We met Todd at Logan's that afternoon and had a yummy lunch. I love their Kickin Chicken Salad. If you have a Logan's and never tried that salad, you need too. I promise you wont regret ordering it. It is so good.

This cute white blouse was only $6.99
I love these dresses for spring and summer. Its all I wear. It was only $8.99
This cute cardigan was $6.99

I was on call Sunday and had to go in that morning for a few cases but was still able to make it to church at 11. Our minister Randy gave a wonderful sermon on salvation. It really opened my eyes. He never ceases to amaze me when he preaches. I had to go back in to work that afternoon and worked until about 7. It wasn't too bad of a day and at least I got a little bit of overtime. I had cooked poppy seed chicken last Sunday for dinner and since we had so much left over I froze it and just reheated it this Sunday. It was just as delish as the week before. You gotta love comfort food.

On Monday I was off since I was on call for the weekend. I wanted to sleep in so badly but I had to go to Tyler to take my car in for a recall. My friend Kristin went with me and we were able to meet up with Kelly and some other friends for lunch, so that was fun. Sadly I did not get a picture. :(

Our weather here in East Texas has been so crazy. On Saturday it was in the upper 60s and lower 70s. I was burning up being outside. It made me want to put on a swim suit and lay out and get a tan. haha. Today its in the 30s and snowing like crazy. It started snowing around 1 and its just starting to stick. Its always fun to watch the snow here since we hardly ever get it. They are saying it is supposed to snow all night, so we might wake up to another winter wonderland. Since its so cold outside I decided to cook chili tonight. I have never cooked chili before so wish me luck! I will let you know how it turns out.

PS: My phone is gone caput and I am waiting on my new blackberry to come in the mail in 1-2 days so if you have texted or called me I am not ignoring you I promise :)
