Two Months Old

Last week my baby turned 2 months old!! 2 months old. How can that be. She is really starting to fill out and she has gotten her first rolls on her thighs. I love those little rolls. She is still the sweetest baby. I love her more and more every day. She has really started to smile and coo a lot now. It just melts my heart. My favorite time is in the morning when I go and get her out of her crib. She is always so happy and full of smiles for her mama. I just try to savor it all, every last moment. I love to hear her “talk” back to me too. This age is so fun, I want her to stay this way forever. She is such a happy baby. She is finally growing out of her newborn clothes and starting to wear 0-3 month and 3 month stuff. She wears size 1 diapers. She has now started going to the nursery at church because she wants to be awake and talking during church. This mama can’t handle her babbling during the church service so off to the nursery she goes. Last week was not so good in the nursery, she was super fussy but when I picked her up they had her calm. I think she just had an upset tummy. She loves laying on her play mat and batting at her toys. We spend lots of time on her play mat in the mornings and evenings. She also really loves her swing now. It puts her right to sleep. :) She still nurses every 3-3 1/2 hours and sleeps all night. She sleeps from 11-9. Its wonderful!! I hope to get her on an earlier bedtime but right now this is what works for us.

 

Today we went to the doctor for her 2 month check up. She weighs 10 pounds 11 ounces and is 22 inches long. My girl is definitely growing but she is very petite. She is only in the 28th percentile. She also got her first round of shots and took them like a champ. Of course she screamed but she was calm within 5 minutes and slept in the car on the way home. I think I took it harder than she did. Thankfully my hubby was there with me and I kept it together. We won’t got back to the doctor until she is 4 months old. I honestly can’t believe she is 2 months old and I still can’t believe she is mine. Sometimes I feel like I am dreaming. I am so blessed by this wonderful little girl!!

Christmas Ornament Exchange

A few of my blogger/twitter friends got together and thought it would be a fun idea to do a ornament exchange for the holiday season. I don't know about you but I love collecting ornaments from everywhere and always buy a few new ones every year. My husband is actually going to start putting up the Christmas decorations this weekend. I am so excited!!! First Road Trip

Two weeks ago Mary Kathryn and I made our first road trip to my parents house. To say I was nervous is an understatement. I was just praying that she would sleep all the way there.  She only had one crying fit thankfully and it didn’t last longer than 2 minutes. We had to be out of the house by 9:30 because I had a doctors appointment that morning. It was rush rush rush and I never thought I would make it out of the house. It is hard to get yourself and a baby ready and out of the house by 9:30. Luckily I had packed my car the night before so that helped. After my doctors appointment we headed to Houston to meet my mom, my best friend Janci, her baby girl Ella, and her mom for lunch. This was the first time I was getting to see Janci and Ella. I was so excited. Ella and Mary Kathryn are only a day apart and if their moms have anything to say about it they are on their way to be BFFs!!! It was so fun getting to spend the day with Janci, Ella and her mom. Ella is the best baby, she is so laid back. Of course when we wanted to take pictures Mary Kathryn decided she wanted to be fussy but I think we got a few cute ones. I can’t wait to watch our girls grow up together, its going to be so much fun. I’m already ready for another visit.

On Saturday I met with my friend Kirby and mom and I went shopping and had lunch with her. Mary Kathryn was such a trooper as we dragged her along all day. It was so fun getting to see several of my friends and them getting to meet MK. I was so excited I was able to see so many of them. I hope to get back home again soon.

Also, my dad got the first real smile out of Mary Kathryn. I told him that wasn’t fair because I am with her all day long. It was so cute though. She loves her PaPa.

She gave me her first real smile on October 27th. This Mama heart completely melted. It was the sweetest and most precious thing ever. I love my baby girl so much, my heart just might explode. Todd and I are unbelievably blessed and sometimes we still can’t believe she is ours. It was has been such a fun ride so far. I can’t believe she is almost two months old. I am just savoring every moment!! For the past 4 nights my baby girl has slept through the night!!! She goes down at 11 and sleeps until 8. It has been wonderful, but I will say it makes me a little sad not having the middle of the night feedings. :( Time is going by too fast.
