Catch Up Post

Wow! I haven't posted in a while. I totally forgot to post the pictures from comedy night. Last week Todd and I and some of our friends headed to Nac for comedy night at the Fredonia Hotel. Ralphie Mae was the comedian and he was HILARIOUS! We seriously laughed for 2 hours straight. It was one of the best comedy nights they have had. His wife is also a comedian and opened for him. We also celebrated Jackie's Bday a day early since we were all together. We had a good time.

I was so excited to get see my niece Miss Anna last week too. I haven't seen her in a month and Aunt KK was missing her. We went to Morales for dinner. One of our favorite Mexican places in Lufkin. I tried hard to get a good picture with her. haha. It is hard to take a good picture with a busy 20 month old. She is growing up too fast. I can't believe she will be 2 in just 4 months. Time really does fly. I will say she LOVES her Aunt KK and her Uncle Todd. :) We adore her too and just think she is the most precious thing in the world. We aren't biased or anything. ;)

I love the progression of these pictures.

Wishful Wednesday

This is my first time participating in Kelseys Wishful Wednesdays!! I couldn't resist this weeks topic. What girl doesn't love handbags. I am not one to put money into my purses. I always just buy pretty cheap purses because I like to change them out so much. I am always on the hunt for a new handbag. If money were no object I have currently been lusting over this LV handbag. It screams spring to me. How cute is it? I am loving this pattern and the style. Its only a mere $1,300, don't I deserve it. haha. I think I will keep on dreaming. :)

'I wish' .... I could afford this Louis Vuitton handbag without putting a dent in my pocketbook!

Head on over to The Seattle Smiths blog and let us know what your favorite handbag is, if money was no object!!

Monday already...

I can't believe its Monday already. Is it just me or do the weekends seem to just fly by these days? Not only the weekends but the months too. I can't believe it will be April next week and Easter next Sunday. It seems like we just celebrated Christmas. I had a fun weekend this weekend. My bestie Kirby came into town to visit. She lives in the Houston area and I haven't seen her in about 6 months. It was great getting to catch up and hang out.

She got to town Friday afternoon and we just hung around the house waiting for Todd to get home and then the 3 of us went out to eat. I bet you can't guess where we went? Our favorite place of course, Hole In One. We have never taken Kirby there so off we went. We enjoyed a delicious dinner and drinks. After dinner Todd went home and Kirby and I met my friend Julie at Ralph and Kacoos for drinks. We had a good time gossiping, chatting, and laughing. Julie had some friends going to Jim Anns, the local bar here so we decided to tag along. I have only been once, and until you go you don't understand it. haha. It shows the true Lufkin. It is definitely a sight to be seen. Lets just say we had a good time people watching :)

Saturday Kirbs and I headed up to the Main Event to help out. For lunch I took her to Rays, a Lufkin tradition. Its a local hamburger joint, but its a true drive thru. They have some of the best and greasiest hamburgers in town, you can't beat them!! You literally pull up and a car hop comes to take your order and then you eat in your car, just like Sonic but better...WAY BETTER!! We were tired from the night before so we both went back to my house and laid on the couch and took nap. We enjoyed our lazy Saturday!!

On Sunday Kirby left early to get back home and Todd and I pretty much laid around all day. It was so nice. It was FREEZING on Sunday. How is it that it was in the 70s on Friday and the 30s on Sunday. Oh yeah and it snowed. That is the third time this year Lufkin has gotten snow. Can we say CRAZINESS? We didn't have anything to do but be lazy.

We had a great weekend and I am sad that its over. Oh well Friday will be here before I know it...HOPEFULLY :) We are going to comedy night on Wednesday night with some friends so I'm looking forward to that.
I got a wild hair today and decided to wear my hair curly. It is naturally curly but I normally just straighten it every day. I am really liking it and I might wear it this way all week. Todd doesn't really like it but oh well, its easy and quick to fix.

Prayers for my Nana

I don't even know how to start this post but I could really use some prayers from my blogging friends. My Nana has had the beginning stages of Alzheimer's for a couple of years now and just within the last year, it has gotten worse. About a year ago she was down visiting with my mom for 2 weeks and I drove down there to stay with her for the day. I took her to lunch and then to a movie. We had the best time and all she kept saying was how she couldn't wait to have a great grand baby and how she would help me take care of the baby when Todd and I decided to have kids. She told me how that was the best day she had had in a long time and loved me so much. Then, after I left to drive back home, my mom got home and asked her how she enjoyed spending the day with me and she didn't even remember. :( Her long term memory has been pretty good up until recently. She lives with my moms sister in Alabama. This week she couldn't even talk to my mom on the phone, she didn't know who she was talking to. Also she didn't know who my moms sister was today. The Alzheimer's is slowly but surely eating at her brain where she doesn't know who anyone is. I haven't seen her in about year so I am sure she will not know me either. This is so hard to watch her and my mom and aunt deal with this. Please keep my family in your prayers as we decide what our next move will be with my Nana. Thanks ladies :)

Sorry this picture is blurry but just wanted to show ya'll my Nana dancing at my wedding. She has always been so full of life and always having a good time. She loved to dance and she calls it "juking" When her and my Papa were young they would always go juking.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful St. Patricks Day :)

Counting down....

In ONE MONTH from today my bff bloggy friend Tracy will be Texas bound!! Can I just say how super pumped and stoked I am. She was one of my first bloggy friends and we quickly became BFFs. She is my twin/soul sister. We think just alike and have so much in common. I was able to travel up to Baltimore this past fall for our first meeting. I had such a great time visiting. It felt like we had known each other for years and I would be lying if I said I didn't cry a little tear when she dropped me off at the airport. There is sure to be lots of laughs, giggles, cries, gossiping, shopping, scrapping, wine and just plain having FUN!! One this is for sure that if we did live close we would be trouble. LOL. :) She has never been to Texas before so I am looking forward to show her all things TEXAS!! :) So hurry up March, I am ready for April to get here. Here are a few pics from my trip up to the North.

Oh and I forgot to mention she has the sweetest baby boy ever. I fell in love the instant I met him :) It might have given me a little baby fever too. haha. He is growing up so fast and I can't wait to go back to Baltimore to see him again.

You Can't Stop The Beat...

Guess what Todd and I are doing tomorrow night? I could not be more excited!!!! We are going to see.....

That's right we got tickets and are going to see the Hairspray musical. We were supposed to go to a cast party tonight but it got canceled. So tomorrow night we are headed to see this fabulous musical. I LOVED the movie and have always wanted to see the Broadway musical :) I think I might go watch the movie right now, just talking about it has me in the mood to watch it.

Here is a little video of the original cast of Hairspray. It makes me want to get up dance. :)

I love Scrapbooking!!

My lovely craft room that my hubby help me do. Are you jealous? haha. I love it and I am so lucky I have a place to store all my junk. :)

I don't know about ya'll, but I LOVE to scrapbook. I don't consider myself a very creative person so scrap booking is one way to bring about my creative side. When I was first introduced to scrap booking by one of my dear friends Bonny, I thought there is no way I can scrapbook. I don't have any kids, I am not even creative, what am I going to scrap about?? Well, it didn't take long for me to completely dive right in. My first scrapbook I did of a trip I took to Paris, France my senior year in high school. It was my graduation present from my parents. I loved scrapping all the pictures from Paris and now I enjoy looking back at that scrapbook and I am so glad I was able to capture every moment of that trip. I enjoy it so much and its very relaxing to me. I hate that I don't get to do it as much as I like.

I have now semi completed my 4th book. I am working on a vacation scrapbook and want to put all our vacations into one book. A few weekends ago I finished scrapping our Florida vacation that we took last summer with my parents. We went to Mexico Beach Florida for a week. It was a wonderful vacation, so relaxing. I am now itching to go back. Thankfully I have my Destin trip at the end of April. I had so much fun scrapping my Florida pictures of the beautiful beach and sunset. I am so glad to finally be done with it. I now have 3 more vacations to scrap before I get caught up on my vacation book. AHHH it stresses me out to even think about it. Here are a few pictures of the finished product.

Sorry these 2 pictures are sideways. I couldn't get them to turn. They are 3 of my favorite pages.

Two Christmas' ago I was able to work on a scrapbook for my sister in law. She wanted to have one for my precious niece Anna but she just didn't have time to get one started. So, I did all the layout for the pages from pregnancy until Christmas and filled in a few pictures here and there. All she had to do was fill in the rest of the spots and she was caught up. I will say I had the most fun doing that scrap book and it turned out so super cute!! I can't wait to have children someday so that I can work on their scrap books. Its so much fun to scrap all those precious pictures of babies. :)

For Christmas my mother in law/Santa got me a Cricut. If you are an avid scrapper then I highly recommend you getting one. You will LOVE IT!!! I have made tons of stuff with it including scrap booking pages, cards, tags, banners. etc. etc. It has been so much fun playing with it and seeing all the different things I can do with it. I am IN LOVE!! haha. I hear you can also cut fabric with it but I have yet to try. Maybe I will try that next. Here are a few of the cards I have made too. I think they turned out so cute :)

Sorry this picture is sideways. You get the idea...

Happy Hump Day my friends!! I hope you all are having a good week. Do you like to scrapbook? If so what is your favorite tool to use? I am just curious. I am a Creative Memories girl. They have the best albums and pages. I buy all my albums from their. I love all their products but I would love to know about other products out there you might like.

TGIF!!!

I am so glad its Friday!!! I so look forward to the weekend when we have nothing planned and can just relax and lay around the house. It has felt like a long week so Friday you are much appreciated today :) I am just full of random thoughts today so here is my random post Friday.

- I received a sweet card from one of my patients this week and it made my day. Working the recovery room most of my patients are still under anesthesia and hardly remember being in the recovery room, so it was nice to get such a sweet card. God is reminding me daily of why I am a nurse, especially in a time where I struggle with if this is what I want to do forever.

- Tonight we are headed to dinner with our friends Mark and Callie. We are going to our favorite place Hole In One. I'm thinking a steak is calling my name. I am looking forward to having dinner with them. Its always fun to get together with friends and have a nice dinner :)

-The other night I made one of those Macaroni Grill meals. Oh my gosh, have ya'll ever mad those. I love those meals. We have tried just about all of them and they are all so good. Here is the one we had the other night. It was delish and so easy to make. They are ready in 20 minutes!!

- I am on the hunt for the perfect Easter dress. I love that floral dress that I posted on my last post but I haven't been able to find it and I always like to try on stuff first. I love to browse online but I never buy anything online. If you have any ideas send them my way. I want a bright colored dress or a floral print dress.

- This week has been beautiful weather. It is finally spring time around here. I have been so glad to see the sun out every day and then temperature in the 60s. I am ready for spring and summer so I can start wearing dresses and skirts. I practically live in dresses in the summer. Todd like to call them my summer trusty's. You know the jersey dresses that are so soft and comfortably, you feel like your wearing pajamas...ahhh I love 'em.

-My current obsession is twitter. I love all my twitter friends and love how I can ask a question and get an immediate response from about 5 people. I also love getting to talk with my friends during our favorite shoes including, The Bachelor, American Idol, Project Runway, RHOC, etc. etc. Its like watching tv with your best girlfriends. :)

- I have started running again. I have 2 months to get my butt in shape. I have ran everyday this week and am hoping I get off in time today to go run again. A couple of days I did Jillians 30 day shred adn then went and ran. I am determined to get off these 10 pounds before I go to Destin at the end of April. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. :)

I hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Happy FRIDAY my friends :)

Jake Finally Picks A Mate

Well ladies its finally over!!!!! The most dramatic/scandalous/surprising season of The Bachelor is over and I don't know about you guys but I am so glad. I was getting tired and bored with this season. I wasn't impressed with the girls and I CANNOT believe he chose Vienna. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though since it was all over the Internet, but I still had my fingers crossed for Tenley. I thought the family visit with Tenley was perfect and I just knew her and Jake would be together forever. Vienna's visit was so awkward, I felt like his family was forced to be nice to her. Lets just say I give it 3 months tops before they are in the tabloids saying they are breaking up. Everything is so romantic and your on such a high while on the bachelor that I think once you hit the real world things change fast and they are so much different. Maybe they will prove me wrong though.

I am excited that Ali is the next bachelorette. I think her season will be fun to watch and we don't have to wait long. They are starting filming this month and it premieres in May. I hope she finds a good guy and really falls in love. I will say though I am tired of them using recycled people. I wish they were find someone totally new. I mean think about it. It went from Brad-Deanna-Jason-Jillian-Jake-now Ali. Let's let this saga rest for now don't you think.

Also haven't we seen enough of Jake already, now he is going to be on DWTS. UGH. Jake you are pretty too look at but I am kind of tired of you. haha. As my good friend Kristin said, ABC is pimping Jake out big time. haha. What show is he going to be on next, the next Good Morning America anchor? Just saying, give it a rest ABC and let Jake and Sausage live their life. This should definitely be interesting for their relationship.

I have enjoyed recapping the episodes with ya'll and tweeting. It has been so much fun and you better believe we will be back to after the final tweet in May!!

Who is going to watch Molly and Jason's wedding? It looks like it was a beautiful wedding and I can't wait to watch. I was so sad when the whole thing happened but to me all of them ended up better off. Don't you agree?

Well I am off to go for a little run, gotta get that beach body ready for Destin :) Happy Wednesday my friends :)
