PINK OR BLUE???

PINK OR BLUE??

That is today's question. Today is our anatomy ultrasound and I could not be more excited and thrilled. I haven't seen our little baby since 11 weeks at the doctor. Of course I snuck a peek at work but you couldn't really see the whole baby. I know Baby S is going to look so different now. I am a ball of nerves and so anxious. I don't know why but I guess I am just ready to see our sweet baby and know that everything looks perfect. Of course I didn't get a wink of sleep last night. I tossed and turned all night thinking what will this baby be. I have always wanted a boy and a girl so it doesn't matter to me one bit, I just want a healthy baby!!! I know that God is in control and he is taking care of our little one. :) Its funny how at the beginning of the pregnancy you think that this day cannot come fast enough and now its here so quickly. Today we can start calling our baby by name. Today we can start really planning our nursery. Today we get to share the best news with our friends and family. 2:30 can not come soon enough!! My mom is coming up this afternoon so she will be in the room with us and I am so excited to share this experience with her. I am sure there will be lots of happy tears. :) She hasn't seen the baby at all except for u/s pictures I send her so she will get a glimpse of her first granddaughter or grandson. Everyone is on pins and needles waiting for us to call and let them know our big news. This is probably the best day next to the day when we told our parents and family. Today our lives really change as we will know that our little family of two is expanding to a family of three and if that family of three will include a baby girl or a baby boy. I honestly cant stop smiling today just thinking about it. :) Its a good thing I am at work so I am keeping busy and the day isn't dragging on too terribly bad. I have wondered about this day my whole life and now it is here. My sweet little baby I will finally get to call you by name. I thank God every day he has blessed us with you. You are LOVED so much. You will never know how much your mommy and daddy prayed for you and loved you.

We put together the bouncer last night because we were curious as to what it was like. Its so cute. I love seeing baby things in our house. We brought our dog Bentley inside and he is scared of it. It was so funny, he would not even go near it and he followed me all around the house. He would not leave my side. I have a feeling he might know something is up. Maybe he knows he will no longer be our only baby.

I promise to post tonight after we find out. I can't wait to share the news with everyone. :)

18 weeks

Today I am 18 weeks pregnant. WOW!! I can't believe in 2 more weeks I will be halfway through my pregnancy. That is just crazy to me. These last couple of weeks have certainly flown by. So far I am still feeling great. I have not had any bad pregnancy symptoms lately. My face is finally clearing up and my baby bump is definitely there. I am not sure how much weight I have gained since my last appointment. We will see what the doctor says next week. My only real craving has been anything spicy. Yes, I know I sound like a crazy person but so far I haven't had any heartburn and I want everything to be spicy. I also want to put jalapenos on everything. I have always loved spicy food but now I love it even more. I might regret this in the near future if I do start having heartburn. This past weekend was my brothers wedding and we had a blast. Details to come soon on that after I download all my pictures. I enjoyed seeing all of our friends and family and so glad that my family was able to see my while I am pregnant since most of them live out of state. I am so ready to find out what little baby stracener is, I can hardly stand it. 6 days and counting. My mom sent me an email today to look at the website best dressed child, which I have looked at before and love. She said how broke she was going to be when this baby comes and I agree. I will be just as broke. How can you not love sweet baby clothes!!! They are so cute!!! I am not sure if I have felt the baby move or not. Sometimes I feel like oh baby that is the baby moving but other times I am just not so sure. When I laid on my stomach the other day something definitely adjusted in my belly. I was like oops I guess I shouldn't have done that. I am sleeping really good lately, which is nice. It seemed like early on in my pregnancy I would toss and turn a lot so I am enjoying my sleep while I can and while I can get comfortable. I hope to update a little more often on the pregnancy as I want this to look back on. I am also so excited that so many of my friends are pregnant as well. It is so much fun to share this journey. My best friend just found out yesterday she is having a baby girl and I am over the moon for her. I was on pins and needles all day yesterday waiting for her to call. I can't wait until our babies get here and they can meet. :)

Destination: Wedding Time

This weekend is my brothers wedding. I am so excited and honored to be a part of the festivities. I can't wait to spend the weekend with all of our friends and family. I haven't seen most of my family since Thanksgiving so I'm looking forward to spending time with them. They are all super excited about the baby and I can't wait for them to see this bump. We have a weekend packed full of activities. I could not have picked a better match for my brother. Kate is wonderful, she is truly the sister I never had. We are alike in a lot of ways and get along so well. Our family is so blessed to be officially welcoming her into the family even though it feels like she has always been a part of the family. Expect lots of pictures to come. :)

Friend or should I say Sister.

16 week picture

One of my best friends Tracy came down to visit last weekend. She was here for 5 days and yet it still never seems like enough time. Why does the time always have to go by so fast when we visit each other. We originally met through blogging and now she is literally my best friend or I like to call her my soul sister. God knew I needed someone like her in my life and he placed her in my life at exactly the right time. Even though we live several hundred miles from each other, we pretty much talk every single day either through twitter, texting or on the phone, and skype. She has definitely been that one friend that just understands me. We just GET each other, if that even makes sense. We always have a blast together and the laughs and even serious talks are just simply the best. Do you have that kind of friend? The one that just gets you, that knows what you are thinking before you even have to say anything. That is one thing I absolutely adore about her and she has the sweetest soul of anyone I know. I was so thankful to spend lots of time with her and us just hanging out before my sweet baby gets here. We both realized this will probably be our last girls trip only without the babies for a while. It kind of makes me sad but excited at the same time. I just adore her little boy so much and can't wait to see him grow up. We did lots of shopping of course, well mostly window shopping but still it was just as fun.

She also went with me to look at baby furniture and I found a crib and dresser that I am in love with. I can't wait to get it ordered and picked up. I have always had this vision of what I wanted my nursery to look like and I could never find furniture online of anything that I just loved so when I found this crib, I just knew it was the one. The hubby loved it also so that was a plus.

On Saturday we went out to our local airport for lunch, they have a nice cafe with the BEST burgers. It was so big I could only eat half of my burger. It was a gorgeous day and such a nice and different atmosphere than any chain restaurant. They also happened to have a few old planes out there too from the 40s. Those were really neat to see and it was fun to watch the little 2 seater planes take off and land. After lunch we headed up to my work and I got our mini ultrasound machine to take a look at the baby. We got a good view of the baby and good see him or her sucking its thumb and wiggling all around. I was so glad Tracy got to see the baby and Todd came up to see to. It was so fun to just watch the baby move all around and not feeling it.

We had been going going so much that on Sunday we were lazy and just stayed in comfy clothes all day and then had Mexican for dinner for Tracy's last meal in Texas. :)

I had so much fun having my best friend here and I can't wait for her to come back after the baby is born.

September in D.C.....the last time I saw Tracy.

Today I am headed to go pick up my best friend Tracy from the airport. She is flying in from Baltimore for her second trip to Texas!! I haven't seen her since September and I am looking forward to having a fun girls weekend. We plan on doing lots of gossiping, shopping, and hanging out and of course baby shopping! Baby Stracener is also excited to see her. I have been looking forward to this weekend for a long time and I am so glad its finally here. We will be headed to Kemah tonight to enjoy some good seafood and people watching. :) Now if only I could find something to wear that doesn't make me look large and in charge. haha. Thankfully she is bringing me her maternity clothes so hopefully I won't have to spend so much money on buying stuff I will only be wearing for a little bit. Its getting harder and harder to find things to wear especially because I am in the in-between stage. My clothes are getting too small and maternity clothes are too big. AHHH the joys of pregnancy. 15 weeks

I will technically be 15 weeks tomorrow but since I went to the doctor today I figured I would go ahead and blog. So far I have been feeling great. I've been having some aches and mild pains. I will just refer to them as growing pains, otherwise I feel good. I am getting my energy back finally and it feels great to not be so tired all the time. In a way it still seems this pregnancy is going by slow, but then again I can't believe I'm already 15 weeks. Only 25 more to go! :)

I had a great appointment today. Baby's heartbeat was 147 and the doctor said everything looked good. At my next appointment we will get to find out if baby Stracener is a boy or a girl. :) I cannot wait!!! I am so excited to know what this baby is and to start on the nursery and shopping!! I always see so many cute things for a great deal but I am making myself wait until we know the gender. I will be 19 weeks when we find out.

The bump is definitely growing. It's moving out of the "I look like I have eaten one to many hamburgers" to the "is she pregnant or is she not" stage. Haha :)

Also last week I went and visited one of my best friends who is also pregnant and we tried on a 9 month belly at A Pea in the Pod. It was interesting to see what I will possibly look like in September, although I imagine I will be a little bigger. ;)




I haven't been very good with the pregnancy updates. I am going to try to do better because I want to be able to go back and see what was going on during my pregnancy.

Lately

I just realized I haven't blogged in a week. Since I have gone back to work now, it has been a little crazy getting back into routine. This past week at work was really busy too and this coming week is going to be even busier. I have been feeling great as far as pregnancy is concerned. I am so lucky that I have not been sick at all. Not even in the least little bit. I have not had any weird cravings either. Sometimes its crazy to think that I really am pregnant. I still have the usual tiredness but I am hoping to get my energy back soon. Its already getting a little bit better. I will be 13 weeks tomorrow. I honestly can't believe it but at the same time it seems like its going by slow. I know it will start to pick up and I will miss the days of pregnancy going by slow. I have to say I am one of those people that LOVE being pregnant. I love watching my belly grow and knowing that my sweet baby is growing. I don't go back to the doctor for 2 more weeks and I am so ready. I guess I got spoiled going weekly/every 2 weeks. I can't wait to hear the heartbeat again :) That sound is music to my ears. Then I cannot wait until April when we get to find out what this baby is. Yes, we are going to find out. I can barely stand it now, not knowing. I'm so ready to have an identity for this baby and start calling it by name. :)

I am in the in-between stage now where my pants are starting to get tight but I am not quite ready for maternity pants yet. I feel like I just look like I ate too many burgers instead of pregnant. I am ready for that cute baby bump. :) I pretty much stick to leggings as pants for right now. I did buy my first pair of maternity jean capris this weekend. Can I just say HEAVEN? Most comfortable thing I have put on, aaahhhh it was like relief. They are so comfy and cozy, I wore them yesterday.

I have lots to look forward to in these next 2 months. I am headed to the Houston Rodeo with my mom in 2 weeks to see Brad Paisley. I am so excited. I haven't been to the rodeo in at least 5 or 6 years. I used to go every year when I lived at home. Also, my best friend will be there to and I am looking forward to catching up with her and baby bumping. I don't remember if I said this or not but my best friend of 20 years is pregnant too and we are due 4 days apart!!!! Its so special to be sharing this time with her. :) At the end of this month my bff Tracy is coming to visit for a long weekend. It has been too long since I have seen her and I am looking forward to lots of girl time and baby talk. :)

In April we get to find out the gender of this baby and we will be celebrating our 5 year anniversary. I can't believe we have been married for almost 5 years. Time sure does fly by when your having fun. I am so thankful that we have had 5 years to spend together with just the two of us, now we are ready to add a baby to the mix. :)
